(Real-World Data / Real-World Evidence, RWD/RWE)於全球醫療與政策應用之最新發展。

[News] OHDSI Taiwan Hosted an Online Lecture at Kuang Tien General Hospital: Global Trends in Observational Health Data Science Research

March 17, 2026

Professor Jason C. Hsu, President of OHDSI Taiwan, was invited to deliver an online lecture at Kuang Tien General Hospital on March 17, titled “Global Trends in Observational Health Data Science Research.” The session highlighted the latest global developments in Real-World Data (RWD) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) and their expanding roles in healthcare and policy decision-making.

The lecture focused on key trends in global health data science, including the critical role of data standardization in unlocking the value of health data, as well as the international research network and open science ecosystem established by OHDSI. Through a common data model and distributed analytics framework, OHDSI has enabled large-scale, multi-center, and multi-national collaborative research, supporting the generation of high-quality real-world evidence.

The presentation also addressed how regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) are increasingly incorporating RWE into policy and regulatory decisions. In addition, the session explored the potential of artificial intelligence and federated learning in facilitating cross-institutional and international data collaboration, along with Taiwan’s ongoing efforts in data standardization and global integration.

The online event attracted strong participation from healthcare professionals and featured active discussions, reflecting the growing interest in data-driven approaches in clinical practice and research. This engagement further strengthened the connection between OHDSI Taiwan and healthcare institutions, laying a solid foundation for future cross-institutional and international collaborations.
